I have been in or around many different unions in this industry my entire life. The only reason I joined was because “you had to” in order to go out for certain jobs. Notice I said “go out for”. The union DOES NOT get you work, they DO NOT represent you when you are out of work and they NEVER contacted me un less they wanted something FROM ME. Just watch how loyal they are if you can’t pay your dues. And the expectations from dues paying members

In 1998, in order to qualify for the union, I had to work for 90 days.
