Question: What is important to IATSE?

Answer: Their Constitution seems to tell all! There are more than 100 pages!

  • IATSE has dedicated over 27 sections of their rule book to the trial of its members!
  • As a union member, you will be required to follow all the rules of the IATSE Constitution. If you break any of the rules, you can be charged and tried.
  • IATSE can hold a trial of a union member regarding any violation of the Constitution and may reprimand, fine, suspend or expel the member (see Constitution pps. 30-33). Union fines are enforceable in court.
  • If the Union puts a member on trial, they can't hire a lawyer to represent them, only another Union member can act as their "lawyer". (see Constitution p. 32 section 16).
